During the year, we continued to hold online and face to face events, and launched 2024 with the improved SEMPHN Practice Coaching website, supporting health care professionals in south east Melbourne to kick start their personal learning journey with the enhanced e-learning platform.
Combined, these activities drew in a combined 4,860 attendees, from online education users and course enrolments.
Every second month SEMPHN hosted free online and in-person Practice Network Meetings for practice managers and practice nurses to learn from key speakers and network with their peers.
The topics for the learning sessions were informed by current challenges faced by practice managers and nurses and covered topical health issues and important protocol updates.
As part of our yearly planning and schedule, we collaborated with leading health providers and organisations – and our local Practice Managers Brains Trust, who guide us with on the ground advice - to provide specialised and accredited training opportunities for health professionals.

In November 2023 and April 2024, general practice staff, including GPs, practice managers, practice nurses and reception staff, attended our in-person education events.
Held at local venues within the SEMPHN catchment – (Spring Valley Golf Club in Heatherton and Atura Hotel in Dandenong), these events provided an opportunity for people to network and for SEMPHN to say thank you to our very hard-working practices.
The sessions were presented by guest speaker, trainer and coach Tanya Heaney Voogt who discussed ‘Embracing and growing through change’ and ‘Demystifying workplace psychosocial health & safety’.
